Hummer H2
Hummer's suspension
for the new H2 is a far departure from the traditional H1 Hummer
that used control arms and coil springs. The H2 is a torsion bar
control arm front suspension with a 5 link live axle rear system.
We used our proven knuckle and crossmember technology for a solid
foundation for the H2 system but have gone to the next level with
a multitude of suspension features and options. Newly designed
lower crossmembers provide attachment points for the included ¼"
thick steel differential skid plate or the optional full IFS skid
plate. Front differential and control arm geometry has been set
to allow maximum articulation and travel. Rear crossmember impact
struts provide additional suspension stability. Ride height has
been increased to 6" over stock for clearance of 37/1250R17
tires on 17 x 10 wheels. Rear lift is accomplished with either
an extended coil spring or air ride spacer system. |

Our Hummer system is constructed much like
all of our IFS systems with extended steering knuckles and high clearance
crossmembers but the differences stop there. To properly address
the H2’s fulltime transfer case we
include a CV style front driveshaft with this system to provide smooth
driveline operation. Also unique to this system is two 1/4" thick skid plates,
one for the front differential and one for the transfer case. Rear lift on factory
air bag H2’s comes from a super stout bag spacer; while coil spring models
receive replacement coil springs that are driver and passenger specific. |
